Anyone want to buy my drums?

I have decided to sell my drums to make my move back to Canada easier. [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img] I haven't posted on EBay just yet. I figured I would try here first to avoid the surcharges.

Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute (NON Nouveau) drums in PRISTINE condition in Vintage finish with BOTH original triple flanged hoops on toms as well as die-cast aluminum hoops (you can switch to whichever you prefer). Snare has die-cast hoops as well, but they are not Yamaha (might be Tama or Gibraltar). I think I have the original triple flanged ones too, but they're in Toronto right now.

Toms are 7 1/2 x 10, 8 x 12, 12 x 14. The 10 and 12 mount on the bass drum with YESS (with additional mini boom cymbal holder) and the 14 mounts on 900 series floor stand via YESS too (with additional boom cymbal holder and cowbell holder). Bass drum is 16 x 22 and snare is 5 1/2 x 14.

Four single braced Yamaha cymbal stands. Yamaha single-braced hi-hat stand and fairly new single-chain double bass drum pedal.

The drums sound amazing and record extremely well. The only thing I'm hanging on to are my cymbals and throne.

Hi Drumming Sort of Person,

Have a good move! I'm not sure where you're going in Canada, but if it's in Montreal, Boston is about 5 hour drive. It would be good to get together, as there are not too many Northeast HoDers (that I can tell).

BTW--You have a great taste in drums (and by the sounds of your CD, you know how to use them wonderfully).

Thanks Steve! I'll be moving back to Toronto (where I'm from). I would love to visit Boston, as I've never been. I'll let you know if I can ever swing it. If you're ever going to be near Toronto, let me know. There are quite a few guys on this forum from Toronto as far as I can tell.

Yes. I've used them on quite a few sessions. They're about 6 years old, but in perfect condition.

Heh Paul, I just noticed that you played with Kim Mitchell. Can you tell me a little about him and that encounter. I really dig all of Kim's stuff including all the Max Webster stuff....Universal Juveniles is really great I think.....are you still in touch with him? I visit his site from time to time

That was way back in '85. I'm not in contact with Kim at all and couldn't tell you what he's up to. I heard that he's a disc jockey in Toronto now.

Back in the 80's I used to study with Paul DeLong (who is also a member on here) who went on to play with Kim. I met Kim through Paul, and would go see them perform at clubs in Toronto all the time. One tour Paul called me and asked if I could be his drum tech. I was broke and looking for a gig and Paul was a good friend, so I said sure.

After the tour, Kim was slated to perform on the Juno awards and Paul was out west doing another gig, so he suggested that Kim use me for the show, since I knew the music inside out by that time. So that's pretty much the story with that. My only gig with Kim was on national television with one run through prior to the show. It was fun, and bizarre seeing all those well known rock stars sitting in the front row, like Bryan Adams, Loverboy, etc.

I used to see Kim Mitchell (or Max Webster) almost every New Year's eve at the Garden's in Toronto. They would open for Rush, or April Wine, or whomever was hot that year.
